Katie’s Foundation continues to support the community
On Monday June 5th a ribbon cutting was done with local and county officials officially opening the new “Playscape” at Kennedy Lake Park north of Fort Dodge. Matt Cosgrove, the Webster County Conservation Director told the people that the play scape concept
comes from the “nature deficit disorder”. Kids are not playing outside as much as when we were younger and a playscape of this nature encourages kids to get outside and enjoy nature. The playscape was built to include a tree house, a rock climbing wall and sandbox as some of the features. The playscape was funded by private donations and the tree house at the playscape was named after Katie Lunn who was killed in an accident in 2010.
