The 2014 KLMF Fort Dodge High School scholarship recipient is Shelby Portz. She was nominated by classmate Emma Bruen who also receives a scholarship.

As in the past students are peer nominated through essay submittals detailing the nominees’ sense of leadership ability, caring and overall upbeat personality.  Then a selection committee of high school teachers read through the essays and selects the top 4 nominees and makes a final decision of the winner. An awards dinner is then held for the nominators, nominees and their families. The nominators read their nominating essays and the winner is announced. The dinner is kicked off with an uplifting video of Katie showing her personality and the effects she has had on others she had been around.

Congratulations to the entire group!
